ipod therefore I am

Just read a very good thinkpiece by Peter Aspden in the FT about the democratisation and accesibility of culture. He muses on the differnces between the grand 'timeless' culture of times gone by, which we continue to elevate (or curate) to the status of high art, and the deluge of quick fire bites of modern culture that we swim through in today's media saturated environment (see below).

ipod therefore I am

This all stems, he tells us, from a podcast he listened to on the tube. He had downloaded it from the Philiosphy Bites blog, which offers 'podcasts of top philosophers interviewed on bite-sized topics' in 15 minute slots, just right for a tube journey.

I already subscribe to Radio 4's Thinking Allowed and In Our Time podcasts, which at 30 and 45 minutes often provide me with an easily digestible chunk of thought sandwich on the way to or from work, which I can chew on for the rest of my day.
